11 Days Authentic Porini Experience Tour

Pick-up from Nairobi at 08:00 hours and transfer by plane to Porini Amboseli Camp, arriving at camp before lunch. Following afternoon tea, you will be escorted on a walk by Masai warriors to a village to get an insight into their fascinating culture and way of life. Then take a game drive in the conservancy followed by a sundowner at a scenic spot overlooking Kilimanjaro. Night game drive and return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Full day spent in Selenkay Conservancy, Amboseli. Awake to the noisy calls of the birds. After an early breakfast, we drive through the bush on our private track into Amboseli National Park, for a full morning of game viewing. Following a picnic lunch in the park, we return to camp later in the afternoon. In the evening you will go on a game drive in Selenkay Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals such as aardvarks, serval cats, caracals, bat-eared foxes, African wild cats, and other species. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Amboseli National Park crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The name "Amboseli" comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.

Early breakfast and then drive through Amboseli park to the airstrip for the 9am flight to Wilson, connecting onto the 10:20 hours flight to Nanyuki (arriving at 11:30 hours). You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to Porini Rhino Camp, located in the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then head off on a game drive with your driver-guide in the camp's 4x4 safari vehicle. Return to Porini Rhino Camp for dinner and overnight.

Full day spent exploring the Ol Pejeta Conservancy with all the comforts that comes while staying at Porini Rhino Camp - a small and intimate safari eco- camp that is located within Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a vast 90000-acre wildlife area between the Aberdares and the majestic Mount Kenya. The conservancy is home to a variety of animals including the “Big Five”. It is the largest sanctuary in East Africa for the endangered Black Rhino and is also a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.

Porini Rhino Camp is in a secluded valley, on the banks of a seasonal river and under the shade of acacia trees. The Kenyan safari camp in Ol Pejeta consists of just seven spacious and comfortable guest tents, each having been carefully sited to take advantage of the wonderful surrounding views. Each tent is tastefully furnished and has solar-power lighting and ensuite hot shower and flush toilet. The camp is specially designed to have minimum environmental impact (with no permanent structures and using eco-friendly fuel).

Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals, including the Big Five (the endangered black and white rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion), Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s hartebeest, cheetah and chimpanzee. Depart Porini Rhino Camp and fly from Nanyuki on the 09.45 hours Safarilink flight to Mara arriving at 11.00 hours. You will be met and transferred to Porini Lion Camp. Lunch and afternoon tea in camp and then go on a game drive or escorted walk followed by a sundowner and night drive with spotlight. Return to Porini Lion Camp for dinner and overnight.

Spend your day exploring the magnificent Masai Mara and we would leave after breakfast for a full day game drive in the Mara a fabulous place to spot the big cats and all of the big five, a variety of plains game and over 300 birds’ species. It’s also the migration time with good chances of seeing the crossing at the Mara River. Your chef will prepare a delicious hot lunch cooked out in the wild served by your personal butler. Return in the late afternoon after an exciting day to a hot safari shower and roaring fire and a gourmet dinner.

Porini Lion Camp is located in unique and stunning setting on the banks of the seasonal Ntiakatiak River within the Olare Motorogi Conservancy. This large area borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve and is home to an abundance of animals including the Mara’s renowned Big Cats. There is unsurpassed game-viewing within the conservancy due to its unspoiled natural state and the Porini Lion Camp – with just ten tents – ensures guests have a genuine “away from it all” experience deep in the African bush.

The expansive Olare Motorogi Conservancy borders the Maasai Mara National Reserve and is home to an abundance of animals including all the big cats for which the Mara is famous. It forms part of a vital buffer zone between the Mara Reserve and the wildlife dispersal areas surrounding it.

Wildlife presence, population and diversity have greatly increased since the establishment of the conservancy. The conservancy today offers pleasant and exclusive viewing of game in a pristine environment, with a rich and diverse wildlife population rarely found anywhere else on the African savannah.

Final early morning game drive, breakfast and then transfer to the airstrip for the 11am flight to Nairobi’s Wilson airport.
