Entebbe, Kasese and Kanungu Tour Overview

This 6 day safari offers the experience of a lifetime with a thrilling visit to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park to visit the magnificent Mountain Gorilla, and game-viewing in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The park has a variety of Flora and Fauna and it’s acknowledged to be a habitat for over 95 mammal species with about 612 species of birds. The various species in this park, has made it a unique park most liked by tourists. Geographers will say that the park has around 57 vegetation but in actual sense, it has five levels of vegetation. Namely bushy grassland, Acacia woodland, Lakeshore or swamp vegetation along with forest grassland.

Entebbe, Kasese and Kanungu Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Arrive at Entebbe International Airport where you will be met by our representative and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, you have the opportunity of doing a optional half day trip to Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.

Day 2
You will be transferred from Entebbe Town to Entebbe Airport for your flight to Kihihi. On arrival you will be transferred from Kihihi Airstrip to Buhoma Lodge. Often referred to as the “Little Switzerland” of Africa, arriving in the afternoon to Buhoma Lodge in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will overnight. Over the next two days guests will have the opportunity for two Gorilla Treks (with prior booking). Other activities that can be enjoyed in and around the park include forest walks, visits to a local school or orphanage or Batwa pygmy village, and curio shopping.

Day 3
Following breakfast at the lodge, travel to National Park Headquarters to meet your guides for the day and begin your gorilla tracking experience. Experienced guides and trackers will accompany your party on an early morning trek into the dense rain forest on the mountain slopes. The journey, through dense foliage and up steep climbs, is abundantly rewarded with the lifetime experience of viewing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. You will have an opportunity to be within meters of these magnificent apes, sharing in their daily lives and experiencing their day-to-day activities. Mountain gorillas are extremely rare with only an estimated 880 remaining in the wild. This is an experience you won’t soon forget!

Day 4
Depart Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Day 5
Spend the day enjoying game drives in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park spreads over 1,978 sq km in the western arm of the Great Rift Valley and is home to a wide variety of wildlife including elephants, leopard, lions, hippos, buffalo, Uganda kob, baboon, and many species of birds. With both a riverine and savannah habitat, the park includes the southern Ishasha area with the massive Maramagambo, one of the largest surviving natural forests in Uganda. The northern Mweya area, traversed by the equator and dominated by the scenery of crater lakes, is often occupied by large flocks of flamingos.

Day 6
This morning we will travel early to the Chamburu Gorge (Kyamaburu) to enjoy Chimpanzee trekking. After this activity, we depart to the airstrip nearby for the flight to Entebbe.
